CURRENTLY ACCEPTING BOOK DONATIONS
Berries for Books is working with underprivileged elementary schools in the DC metro area to distribute thousands of literacy resources directly to the hands of students.
This August, we partnered with the I Dream Public Charter School in Ward 7 of Washington, DC to distribute 400+ books to students at their Back to School Night.
If you or your elementary school are interested in partnering with Berries for Books, please contact us at contact@berriesforbooks.org.
Berries for Books is partnering with elementary schools across the DC metro area to install Little Free Libraries at no cost to the schools. All selected schools have below average literacy rates and limited resources.
While we have already agreed to install several Little Free Libraries, there is still a huge demand for more. Berries for Books wants to help as many schools as possible and increase access to reading materials for hundreds of elementary school students.
Your generous cash donations will go directly to the purchase and installation of the libraries. 100% of received funds will directly support Berries for Books' initiatives. All of our operating expenses are separately donated.
As always, when available, chocolate covered strawberries will be provided to show our gratitude for cash donations! Please see our How to Donate page for more information.
Berries for Books is proudly partnering with Easterseals to support the literary needs of students at their Child Development Center in Washington DC. Easterseals' Early Development Centers provide care for students aged six months to five years of age through various educational programs. These all-inclusive centers specialize in the support of children with disabilities and developmental concerns.
Berries for Books will visit the DC Early Development Center to interact with students through reading activities, free book distributions, and chocolate covered strawberry enrichment activities. After the reading activity, each student will have the opportunity to decorate their own chocolate covered strawberries.
These efforts support our ongoing mission to promote literacy through positive and rewarding activities.
To assist the above activities and our ongoing efforts, we are graciously accepting new and gently used children's books for pre-school to elementary school aged students.

We would like to thank everyone for their continued support of Berries for Books. We are humbled by the tremendous positive feedback we have received from the community. Your generous donations enable us to pursue our mission and provide even more advocacy for child literacy.
